Can my child come along for a trial class?

Absolutely! We know trying something new can feel like a big step. Trial classes are available (with a small $15 fee), giving your child the chance to experience an Acting Up class before committing to the term.

Simply get in touch and we'll help find the right class.

Can I stay and watch the class?

To help all students feel comfortable and confident, parents don't stay inside the classroom during lessons. We've found that children are often more relaxed, independent and willing to join in when parents aren't in the room.

Rest assured, your child will be well looked after by our experienced and caring teachers. You're very welcome to wait just outside the room if that helps everyone feel more comfortable.

My child is really shy.
Will they fit in?

Yes! In fact, many of our students join because they're looking to build confidence. We never force children to perform before they're ready, and every child is encouraged at their own pace in a supportive, welcoming environment.

Does my child need any acting or singing experience?

Not at all! Whether your child has performed on stage before or is trying drama for the very first time, everyone is welcome. Our classes are designed to help every student learn, grow and have fun.

What should my child wear?

Comfortable clothing they can move freely in is perfect. Drama classes involve movement, games and creative activities, so we recommend enclosed shoes and clothes suitable for being active.

What happens in a typical class?

Every class is different, but students can expect a mix of drama games, improvisation, character work, movement, performance skills, teamwork and plenty of laughter. It's a fun, engaging environment where creativity comes to life.

What if my child is nervous on their first day?

That's completely normal! Our teachers are experienced at helping new students settle in. We make introductions, include everyone in activities and ensure every child feels welcome from the moment they arrive.

How do I enrol?

It's easy! Simply enrol online through our website or get in touch if you'd like to chat about which class would suit your child best. We're always happy to answer any questions before you join the Acting Up family.

Do you offer Musical Theatre as well as Drama?

Yes! We offer both Drama and Musical Theatre classes, giving students the opportunity to develop their acting, singing and movement skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Whether your child dreams of performing on stage or simply loves to sing, dance and act, we have a class to suit them.

Can siblings join the same class?

Where possible, yes! If siblings are within the same age group and the class is suitable for both children, we're happy for them to attend together.

If there's an age difference, we'll recommend the class that's the best fit for each child to ensure they get the most out of their experience. If you're unsure, just get in touch—we're always happy to help.
