Ivy Barclay Drama Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION:

 

This scholarship is valid to cover Drama Recreational or Certificate classes or Musical Theatre classes from ages 8 – 18 years of age. Acting Up! Drama School is well known in the community for its range of after-school acting/drama classes and musical theatre classes including Recreational and Advanced Certificate drama courses. We are pleased to offer to dedicated and talented students, or those in financial difficulty, the opportunity to join the program, which operates at the Acting Up! Studio at ArtGeo Cultural Complex at 4-7 Queen Street, Busselton.

 

Scholarships are awarded following an application process. The value of the scholarship is 100% of class tuition fee. The scholarship is for the duration of the student’s attendance and is conditional upon ongoing commitment to the Acting Up Drama School program.

 

Criteria:

  • Has read the Scholarship Terms and Conditions

  • Brief covering letter of interest from parent or guardian

  • Completed Application Form

  • Letter of support

 

IMPORTANT: if you are applying on the basis on financial hardship, whereby the scholarship ensures your child’s attendance, please include mention of this in your covering letter. A copy of your Concession or Health Care card may be requested.

 

Selection:

  • A scholarship is awarded to an applicant who has proven to be a dedicated student, showing promise in the area of   acting and dramatic performance. Furthermore, a scholarship is awarded to an applicant who will make a positive contribution to the endeavours of Acting Up Drama School. The applicant may or may not, also be affected by financial difficulties whereby fee payments cause a barrier to attendance.

  • All criteria must be met by the applicant in order o be considered for a scholarship.

  • Acting Up! will review all criteria and make a short list .Those on the short list may be contacted for a brief interview via telephone.A  final decision rides with a panel of judges, including Acting Up! personnel.

  • Unsuccessful applicants will be advised by telephone and via email and must accept the scholarship within 10 days. If no acceptance is received by then, it will be assumed the place is no longer of interest and offers will be given to others.

The scholarship covers drama or musical theatre class tuition fees for four terms.
